Species: Catfish
Fishing Rating: 5
Water Temperature:
There are large catfish off the west boat ramp jUst to the left. You have to use bloody anchovies or shad and cast really far out. We have been using large sea fishing poles so we get out a lot farther then most from the shore. You have to find the warm pockEts in the water. TRy fishing from 11am to about 3 pm in this area. We brought home an average of 5 before we went bass fishing. There Are a lot of good size bass out there but they are all close to the shore. We have been getting the limit in less then an hour all about the limit. You have to hit the areas that have the most brush and and cover. The north side of the lake has huge bass. Also around the island, You can see them from the peak. You have to find the right jig. The big fish Ares big for a reason. They have seen most lures out there. TRy some classic lures that fish always love

Species: Catfish
Fishing Rating: 2
Water Temperature:
"Lots of small bass 5-10"" hitting large rattle traps aggressively from the bank mid-day (hooked over 20 between 4-5PM). Not a single one was legal size. Boaters said they were having similar results off various baits. Triad catfishing with cutbait and liver from 10PM to 2AM and absolutely nothing. If anyone is catching catfish in this lake, or decent size bass, please report some details here."

"7/2/10-7/3/10 3 of us fished from 6:00pm - 1:00am.Very tough. Had one hook up, and one bite on brushhog. Crawdads did not produce. Fish are suspended in 25-50ft of water near dropoffs and rock banks due to water temp increase."

"07-06-10 Fished a small tournament with 11 fishermen from 6:00pm-9:00pm. None weighed in a keeper fish. Fish are still suspended over deep water and not feeding agressively. Tried many types of baits- Cranks, Worms, Jigs, Swim baits, But nothing produced a strike. Good Luck to everyone..."

Lake Success Largemouth Bass Rating:
4
Lake Success Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lake Success at 44 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.
Lake Success Smallmouth Bass Rating:

Lake Success Smallmouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- there r no smallmouth in this lake
Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 44 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.
Lake Success Crappie Rating:
3.5
Lake Success Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie will just be starting their migrating runs from deep river channels toward major tributaries. They will suspend in open water and channels in deep water and cover on the break lines. Crappie will stage off primary and secondary points this time of year while they are getting ready for spawn. Make sure you don?t forget the river channels, especially with structure and sharp breaks in deep water. Some crappy will hang back in this area waiting to come up to the staging areas. Drifting and slow (REALLY SLOW) trolling with jigs and other artificials work great this time of year. Always look for baitfish schools and concentrate more time when you see the bait.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
