Went fishing 4/18/14,4/19/14 and 4/21/14 and caught fish all three days.. The water level is on the rise and the bass are biting. There re a lot of folks out on the water and the shore is lined with people, all doing what they love...... Fishing! I ended up in greasy cove all three trips and caught bass from the begging of the cove to the very end. Get out and enjoy the weather before it gets too hot, good luck and happy fishing.

09-22-11. 4pm-7pm. Threw rattle traps for an hour with no results.. Bass seemed to be feeding on shad... A lot of top water activity but every shad immitation lure I threw wasn't workin'... So i switched to my go-to bass rig..., plastic worm and a Texas rig... Caught about a dozen lil' guys and two keepers... The two keepers hit right before sundown... Ended up being a pretty fun couple of hours at the lake.... Mike Mike

Ran spinners and rattle-traps for bass from about 2PM til around 6PM. Landed half a dozen small bass and hooked into a couple nice ones that shook the hooks before we could boat them. This site said est water temp would be 78 but it was actually 69 degrees.

Lake Kaweah Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Bass are biting hard with plastic worms ( pumpkin with fluorescent green tail) and rattle baits . I
caught 10 bass between 7-10 am but most of them were on the small side .
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lake Kaweah at 55 degree water temperature largemouth bass fishing is getting ready to ramp up. The male bass will start moving up from deep water toward spawning coves and the big ones are right behind them. This is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. The female bass will start feeding at this water temperature in preparation for spawn. The male bass may be up shallow especially on sunny afternoons. Fishing sunny spawning grounds that are receiving the warm spring time sun is a great way to get a few largemouth bass in the boat.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the water temperature at 55 degrees smallmouth bass fishing is ready to heat up for spring. The bass will be starting to move into their spawning area. Smallmouth bass will generally spawn on rock and gravel bottoms that are protected from the elements. It's time to get fishing and look for staging bass in deeper water.

Lake Kaweah Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Snagged a crappie trolling with a live worm

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie should be getting ready to spawn. Stay out in deeper water and look for schools. Schooling shad will be harder to find with this water temperature so when you find it, stay on it. Crappie schools will be breaking up quite a bit getting ready for the spawn. Also try fishing shallower with small crank baits and spinners on the warm banks with direct sunlight. This is a great time to be on the water.

Lake Kaweah Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- I used packaged shad, 1/4 ounce wieght and caught four catfish here last night from about 8:30-10pm. biggest was just under 5lb. My truck said it was 49 degrees outside. Pretty windy, but since catfish hunt by smell, the stinky shad worked well. Or maybe I got lucky.

Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Lake Kaweah White Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Use minnows, and white grubs. The government thought they erraticated this fish out of this lake, but they are still
abundant... You just have to know where to look and what to look for. Ice chest full is possible, it\'s been done. Creek
inlets are the best.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
