Excellent boat ramp. Caught 3, first two on buzz bait, last on crank bait. Not much size, but they stretched my line, and the big ones are still there. Have not found the boat lanes yet, but some of the trees are a little shorter. Rough on fiberglass. Best part of day was the cheeseburger at Lucky Landing. Friendly service and nice people. Will fish and eat again soon.

terrible day of fishing which only included 4 boated fish three largemouth, biggest one @2.8 lbs and one healthy size white bass. Between the lack of help from the folks at lucky landing and the crazy crop dusitng pilot we will not be returning. If the game plan for the folks at lucky landing was to keep new comers from trying their luck at a trophy bass then they have succeeded, either that or the crazy pilot was on the payroll of lucking landing. Hope this gives people a better idea who havent been there before.

Fishing is pretty decent. caught some good sized bass and they fight hard. We used spinner baits on the west end of the lake. Didn't care to much for the owner of lucky landing though.

Lake Atkins Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 82 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!

Lake Atkins Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.
Lake Atkins Walleye Rating:
2.5
Lake Atkins Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the water temperatures up this high, the walleye will really be moving slow and feeding even slower. It will be extremely difficult to stay on fish and catch good numbers. There will be good days that you can find a good pattern and fill the live well up. The good days of walleye fishing will be fewer and farther between until the water temperature gets back down. Good luck.

Lake Atkins Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Unlike most North American fish species, blue catfish, flathead and channel catfish are comfortable when the water temperature is this high. They will be feeding and moving in typical patterns. You will start having a little better luck if you can get to some moving water that is adding a little more oxygen for the baitfish and the catfish will be there also.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
