Key Water Temperatures

Wipers typically will start spawning when the water starts reaching the mid 50's to lower 60's. Wiper Bass are most active when the water temperatures is between 63deg and 76deg. Above 80deg, the activety starts to decrease. In late fall when the water temp dips below 50 the activety falls off.
Food Source

Wiper Bass main diet sourse comes from small fish such as minnows and shad. They are known for their pack feeding behavior the wiper bass school will surround a large school of bait fish and feed extremely aggresively until the bait fish move on.


Growth Patterns

Wipers will grow much faster than white bass and often reach 6lbs in 5 years.

Hybrid Bass are the favorite gamefish of many anglers. And it's no surprise if you have ever had a Wiper on. They are incredibly strong fish and hit lures with a force unmatched in freshwater. It feels like an F16 snags your line at full speed. And with that flat body and strong swimming, it really feels like 3 time the fish is hooked. They are really a ton of fun to catch.
